Upload your image to a site like Imgur. Grab the "Direct Link" and paste it in the image "mode" when posting (the one of a tree)

I'm probably doing something wrong, but sometimes when I copy and paste an image into a forum post (on this forum), I get a message saying "You are not allowed to use that image extension in this community". This happens with images copied from the web, as well as when copied from GIMP.

 

Is there a list of allowed/disallowed formats, or is this a bug?

.jpg, .jpeg, png and .gif are all allowed.

You say you are using Gimp, are you trying to upload .xcf file itself?

You say you are using Gimp, are you trying to upload .xcf file itself?

I tried to paste a .png in from another website, and I've also tried Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V from a highlighted area in Gimp.

 

Imgur seems really easy to use, so I'll probably just use that
