Does mouse software REALLY cause any noticeable input lag?

Ive heard both sides 

 

Depends on the mouse and the software

 

Generally most mice with software there is no extra lag, I used the logitech software for mine so get 1000hz polling etc and the profiles are stored on the mouse itself so its not running through the extra software layer

As in for customizing the mouse?


No, you shouldn't experience anything, but windows does have certain things in place that cause acceleration, as for lag it's typically due to vsync being on or something else like that.

Ive heard some companies say just have the software in general will cause some input lag.

That's typically the game itself, Razer Synapse or other mouse software has never caused me any trouble personally.
