Posted June 4, 2015 Asus has demoed a Thor Motherboard having reversable connectable option. The video is not in english. But you can see the working. The question is.. Is it necessary for 2.0? Posted June 4, 2015 so there is a single reversible 2.0 port? seems extremely pointless.... When in doubt, re-format.

Posted June 4, 2015 But it's reversible!!!!!!!!!! It would be one thing if ALL of the ports were reversible, but having just one reversible one on the back of your computer seems really stupid to me. I guess it would make sense on a laptop, but hey, thats just my $0.02 When in doubt, re-format.
 I guess it would make sense on a laptop, but hey, thats just my $0.02 There's one very easy fix to make ALL usb ports reversible take the metal shroud off except for the bits at the side of the connector, and wire another set of contacts on the other side. Easy. NORTEL!!!!! THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, YOU COULD HAVE DONE THIS IN THE 90'S!!!!!
 Posted June 4, 2015 useful, but I think all ports should of been reversible. Maybe ASUS is just releasing this to see if people complain about it or anything? Posted June 5, 2015 Here's the real question: Why was this not done to begin with? Why did we even need to make the USB 3.1 type C? This new reversible USB 2.0 port is fully forward and backward compatible with USB 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 devices which makes a shit ton more sense than the ridiculous type C connector. I hope this takes off and becomes the new industry standard, screw USB type C!! It's less that humans are lazy and more that we should have dealt with this unnecessary aggravation DECADES ago. Most people's lives are irritating enough without a simple connector making a fool of us on a regular basis. Posted June 5, 2015 Forget about the reversible connector, look at how clean that motherboard is, I know I know it's only a demo board and probably doesn't function but damn it looks neat.
