My dad and I want to try and dual boot ubuntu to see if we like it. Is this a good guide?

(Note: We are doing it with windows already installed.)

I would say it is, It also brings a lot of info to the table, It is quite simple you have to just partition the HDD and install Ubuntu... I have done it a few times so I am just glancing over some info,

Yes, read that you will be set.

Treat your local grammar nazi nicely and he might teach you a thing or two. (Note that I'm Belgian and not a native English speaker.)

I'm pretty sure ubuntu does it itself nowadays.

What do you mean?

Normally you can just click like, "Install alongside Windows 7" and tell it how much space to cut off your windows install, and then it works.

Not sure about that though.

Btw, if I were you I'd go Ubuntu Gnome over stock Ubuntu. That's personal preference though.

Ubuntu has a windows installation program that downloads and installs it within windows to an allocated hdd size and then creates a 2ndary boot option when you boot your pc.

It's on the main downloads page.
