Far cry 4 System requirements...

Hello there,

 

So I was wondering if I can run Far Cry 4 with my FX 6100 and Radeon 6870 (1gb gddr5) 8 gb ram  because I see a lot of ''inconsistency'' about the minimum specs. I don't care about how low I need to run it if I can just play the game I'm alright

Tbh, CPU should be enougg for at medium I think, but the GPU might be a problem. Only 1GB of vram could be problematic.

That gpu may limit you to low quality, but the cpu is the main thing.


See, when I bought Far Cry 4, I ran it first on my old pc, which had a core 2 duo 9300 at 2.5 ghz in it. The game ran like shit even on low.

When I got my new build, same gpu, different cpu, a 4690k. Even at almost medium to high settings the game runs solid at 60 fps.


So it really depends on your cpu honestly, I don't know much about AMD to be honest with you, I've used laptops with their processors before and steered away from them ever since. So you might wanna do a bit of research.

you'll need something with a little bit more kick if you want to game at high settings, but you may get medium settings at 1080p with no filters. Pretty decent imho.

I see people playing with 6870 on FHD on high but with 2GB, while some are saying it's laggy as hell so don't want to make false statements but there could be some problems if you want higher setting.

You're above the minimum, so it will probably work you will have to turn down most settings though.

The new AMD beta driver has support for Far Cry 4 and GTA V.  Also, use AMD gaming evolved from raptr to help optimize for best performance over quality.

the GPU only has 1Gb of VRAM

Your CPU should be fine, and with reasonable settings the GPU should be ok too. Check this guy testing different settings on an i7 + HD 6870 build.

What about a i3- 4150? I know its a dual core only, but would i be wasting my time if i needed to run a launcher/crack to get it going? Gpu is a r9 290 so that shouldn't be a concern. Anyone run it with those specs?
