Today I was VERY excited when I saw the little Windows 10 icon on my tool bar. I clicked on it and accepted the free offer! I am SO PSYCHED for this! I've been playing with the tech preview and I love what I've seen so far! Whose excited? Please share thoughts and feelings about the free upgrade? Whose ready? :D This year is gonna be awesome!

Man I can't wait for July. Honestly Microsoft has really come a long way in this next OS. I like the interface because it's a good cross between 7 and 8. It's still easy, yet holds more. :)

I was excited too. I was going to upgrade because I liked what I saw but I really like my gadgets and control over updates so I said NO. (even though I only have Win7Pro haha) I really hope they do something about the desktop gadgets and change their mind about screwing the Home users into getting updates without a say (and hopefully there aren't any other hidden negatives), because I really wanted to use Win10.

You will, but not for free. If you don't get it while it is free, you will have to pay 100$+ for it.

uhhh currently im a bit in trouble and dont know if ill get my pc back by july 29th. so will i still be able to get it even after its release? (i have a legit copy of win 7)

I got the message on my win8 computer but my dad's win7 comp hasnt got the message yet, any one know why?

Desktop: CPU: I7-5820K GPU: 980Ti, 750Ti PhysX Mobo: MSI X99A SLI PLUS RAM: 4x4 Kingston DDR4 2400MHz OS: Win10
Storage: 250GB Samsung Evo, 3TB WD Black and Green FIRESTRIKE, Reason for dedicated PhysX Card.

Honestly I'm not going to touch it. The only time I will be installing win 10 will be in a virtual machine inside of linux. Just don't like windows any more.

Restart the Computer maybe? my friends computer that has Windows 8 got it today.

I dont know man, I got it too, but im quite sceptical about microsoft... I feel they are forcing Win10 too much xD Too much hype.

 

How intrusive is it? Will my programming tools work alright, I already had trouble installing them in win8.1. Gaming performance? I would dislike losing FPS on my AAA titles. Etc...

I'm running 7 myself and I still haven't gotten the notification either.

I'll tell you this, anything that worked on Vista, 7, and 8 should mostly likely work. My educated guess would say I'm sure they share a lot of core file structure so they should most likely work.

I'm excited. But, unless they release an ISO, I wont install. I don't trust in place upgrades. I rather reformat and Start with a fresh install. Having to sit through a Windows 7 install then install windows 10 is just a pain. I hope its a better OS than windows 8. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Guys I know this is a HUGE step, but I have seen the tech previews and their all VERY good. I'm gonna try the upgrade on my laptop first before I hit The White Yeti (name of my computer) with the upgrade.
