i need help is this a good cpu and it is not overclockable http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54440. thanks!.

This is a good CPU (depending on what you're wanting to do with it). It's not particularly overclockable.

For your entire build:

1) What are you wanting to do with it?

2) What's your budget and location?

3) Are there any particular retailers you'd prefer to buy from?

Sig under construction.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WgRMQ7these are the parts that i have picked out my budget is around 700 and i would be playing games with it like bf4,bf3,cs go,day z,rust,arma2 and 3 like those games

That build is sweet as fuck...

A top performer!

/Save for an SSD later on, and your good to go.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Okay, here are my criticisms:

You don't need a 750w power supply for this. However, that's a pretty incredible deal.

If you can, spend a bit more on a case - get something like an NZXT S340?

ok thanks @SkilledRebuilds do you think it will run the games that i listed above?

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!

/You could get away with a 650w easy, HOWEVER...it may get louder than a 750w due to the load put upon it, this is why some people apply some headroom... and for other reasons.

I had a 650w, got F'ing loud,.. put a 750w in there of the same branding and feature set, a noticeable drop in overall loudness.

DO NOT go under 550w IMO, not for that setup, plus it's closer to its limit, pushing over 50*c no doubt so it will be loud too when the fan kicks in and ramps up.

/My 650w PSU fan BEAT my 290x fans in loudness, its quite annoying to hear it so loud even with headphones.

Yes, it should run the games you've listed pretty darn well.

Also, seconding the SSD.

yes that is a very good cpu. the i5 4460 haswell refresh goes for about the same price.i would pick the refresh

and go for this seasonic psu,its a better psu than the cx

and i would not put the r9 290 in that case. it will heat up everything in it

otherwise the build looks ok
