Basically

750 Ti vs 960 vs r9 280x vs r7 260x vs R9 270x

Some "variables"

Heat may be an issue as my case has garbage-tier cooling (I assume it has crap tier cooling, my pc is pre-built and it's not really advertised as a gaming pc, more of a family computer)

PSU: I'll probably pick a 500W or 600W PSU depending on which GPU i'll get

Brand of GPU (EVGA,Palit, etc): i'll probably pick whatever's cheap, whatever has 2 fans, or whatever has the phrase "better cooling" on it since I don't really know what i'm doing

Resolution: 1600x900 ( yes i'm a filthy peasant ) I have another monitor lying around which is 1920x1080, not sure if i'll be using it, it has VGA/HDMI but no DVI sadly

Here's what I know or at least what I think I know

Team red: Better performance, more heat, more power usage

Team green: less heat, less power usage, (cheaper i think???), also it's more popular in my country I think (haven't really seen much of team red)

Edit: Added R9 270x

A R9 270 would be enough for you, honestly. That is if 900p is the resolution you're going to play on.

I agree with Pohernori; the 280x gets my vote. The heat and power consumption will  be there, but it is the best card there.

R9 280x. I recently did a build with it and found the price to performance very good. If you get an aftermarket cooler like the Windforce from Gigabyte the AMD 95C myth is absolute BS. It runs at 70C max.
