Carly Fiorina could be our first president actually knowledgable about the tech industry.  She turned HP into a giant durring the bloodiest days of the tech wars that killed giants like compaq Gateway and turned IBM from THE computer giant into a cash register company. She is one of the greatest CEO's of all time and to her tech is more then deleting e-mails to cover treason or needing a tele-prompter to order a pizza. I would not be surprised if some tech CEO's are a lil nervous, bet she knows were the bodies are. Lotus was killed off by a few lines of code, stuff like that. I personally like Ted Cruz but she is such an upgrade from the retarded loser we have now. Like going from an 8088 to an I7. She may even be smart enough to salvage the country from 8 years of B. Hussain Osamas jihad against the Constitution, suicide bombing the economy and proclaiming numerous fatwa's against American interests.

Anyways, the political landscape here is too two sided for me. At least in Canada it's a little more colourful. The only reason we have a tech industry is because Ronald Reagan was the right man at the right time with the right policies. During the 80's he was like John Conner, he brought us back from the brink. We need someone like that.

fun fact, the largest tech company in the world, samsung, is not a US company. maybe you heard of foxconn? sony? yeah. all not american.

 

now, its arguable that the US military and early supercomputers had a huge push in early tech, but hell no, are not the only reason. the reason is the stupid large amount of money that could be made. simple as that. not bettering of the world, not because of a president, but because businessmen and innovators wanted to make money.

I disagree. The tech industry here stated very small. Intel was a memory company about to go under( ref: Only the Paraniod Survive by Andy Grove) And Microsoft was a small nothing vendor to Radio Shack. The main thing that spurs growth was the gov standing aside and letting companies compete on an open field and NOT picking winners. I am a huge fan of AMD chips and frankly Intel may very well kill off this company. I don't want the goverment coming in and saving AMD or anyone with other peoples money. What drives tech is the freedom to inovate and OPEN markets. 

At least you disagree and thats cool. Heck we may disagree about cpu's too. I respect the heck out of Andy Grove and loved his book(he was co-founder of intel) but I will almost always find a reason to go with AMD unless you have an 1150 MB with a G3258 then yea intel would be the best option.

However as an american I will never shrink from a discussion because some might call me a name. Once I allow that I become part of the problem.

I believe that was true in the past. When general Janet Reno was using the anti-trust laws to chop up Microsoft like they were headquaterd in Waco. Intel saw that and decided to keep AMD around. Things have changed and now Intel is facing Cortex among others in smart phones etc. They saw what befell IBM who at one time was going to be a subject of an anti-trust lawsuit till Reagan killed it and said let the market decide. I as well as many others believe the anti-trust lawsuit was a way to get campaighn contributions from the tech industry. At that time the ENTIRE tech indusrty only had three lobbyists on K street. That has changed drastically. I believe Amd got the console tri-fecta because no one wants intel to be the only x86 game in town.
