What Graphics Card to get for £150-£200 ($300 USD)

Chris Burgess
Hi LTT, new poster here..

I have been using intergrated graphics (yeah I know..) untill I can afford a propper GPU. But now I can! :D

I have a AMD A6-6400 APU and 8GB of RAM. Also I have a 500w PSU and a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2 Mobo.

So... for my new GPU, I have around £150-£200($275USD) max and I am wondering what to get? Apparently the GTX 960 is bad for the money? What do you guys reccomend??? - Thanks guys

Please do not suggest a new CPU like I guess many will - Thanks

P.S This is so I can play the new Assassin's Creed Syndicate. I love the Assassin's Creed series but i only have an Xbox 360 to play them on. I hope you understand my desperate need for a graphics card which will run it.

As an A8 7600 user, I'd recommend the GTX 760 (find it for a low second hand price)

Or an R9 280(x)

@Chris Burgess

The 960 is not great price:performance

I reccomend that you upgrade your cpu but no matter if you are looking for a gpu either the gtx 960 or the gtx 750 ti is the way to go but i think you should definetly go for the gtx 960 since it is only a bit more and the gtx 960 is not bad for the money it is pretty much the sweet spot for gamers :)

depends on what you're doing, i think the 960 is a great card for that money, especially as a 4gb version

4gb vram for that card is useless and overkill

it can't run at the needed fps/res for the extra vram to become a factor

@Chris Burgess

get an r9 280x

Go for the 280(x) it is the best option in the uk in your price range.

but 4gb of vram is useful for 3d rendering, if he's doing this

@Chris Burgess

get an r9 280x

It's not useless at all, the target consumer is VERY small, hence the lack of 4GB 960's produced.

if hes doing 3d rendering theres no point in only investing 200$ on a gpu
