Dat SSD speed!

The other day I decided it was finally time to update from my aging Macbook Air.   I got lucky and found a steal of a deal on a 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13".   I decided to run a few quick benchmarks.   Most were what you would expect from an i5 Laptop with integrated graphics.   This isn't a gaming machine, it is a mobile office computer.   

 

The SSD speed test however blew me away.   

 

Write speeds could be better but those read speeds make me feel kind of funny inside..  

 

Other than that I can say that the haptic touchpad is a lot nicer than I thought it would be.   My only complaint is the 128Gb SSD.  However I have a Thunderbolt SSD for added storage so it should be fine.

Kind of seems on-par for a PCIe SSD, no?

I guess its from an M.2 SSD. :)

Someone, link him that new Intel SSD.

I have seen that. But it is an extremely high end option. We don't usually expect that kind of speed in a consumer device.
