Can't decide which GTX 970
I did a little bit of research on the topic of the 970s myself when I bought my rig, and from what I've been reading about it, the Gigabyte card actually trumps the equivalent 970 MSI/ASUS cards (not too sure about EVGA). It's (supposedly*) great for overclocking, as well. From personal experience, I can tell you that it performs great at stock speeds. Temps don't really go higher than 65C (if that much) when gaming. Furmark stability testing yielded temps of around 72C, so overheating really isn't an issue with it. One inconvenience is its size: it's 312 mm long, so you need to make sure your case has enough room for it; I had to take out a set of bays from the front of my case (the Zalman Z11 Neo), to fit it in. Also, if you're looking for silent fans, I would advise against tampering with the fan speed (if you do get it).
See it in action here:
* I said "supposedly" because I just can't get it to overclock properly without changing the core voltage. People have reported getting up to 1500 MHz clock speeds with it; meanwhile, I can't even get a stable 1400, but I might just be the silicon lottery winner.
