Anyone here consumes any form of protein powder?

Focux

I'm not looking to bulk up but want to look better in clothes.

I'm rather lean at the moment and am looking to replace my high calcium milk power I drink in the mornings with something else.

I do short exercises daily.

Would hope you guys could introduce something I can purchase easily in Singapore.

There's plenty of GNC and Holland & Barret in Singapore.

Cheers guys

Not sure about Singapore but I use Gaspari. They are the best out of the ones I tried. Gained 75lbs of muscle over a year of lifting.

Not sure what they have in Singapore, but if you're not doing any type of lifting, any protein powder will be fine. Make sure your calorie intake is higher than usual as well if you're trying to bulk up.

Are you trying to gain weight or gain muscle btw?

Muscle

I like my current weight but probably 5 more kg would be perfect hehe

No. Protein powder is not that necessary really.(especially if you only do short exercises) If you want to look better in clothes, you should eat better food with more protein in it. :)

Also, just consuming protein powder won't build muscle, you have to lift heavy weights.

That's physically impossible unless you're taking huge pro-hormones or some heavy supplements. You probably gained 75 pounds and perhaps a lot of it is muscle, but 75 pounds of pure muscle is unheard of in a year afaik

It's not. Don't take hormones either.

Not really but I have a crazy work effort and a great trainer that pushed me. I did take a lot of supplements and would eat 6 meals a day. I use to eat 1 meal a day and even skip meals before and not eat for a couple days. I was really weak and no muscle at all.

The most people can really gain is around 20 pounds (of lean muscle) in a year. Mabye more if you train more often and eat well, but 70 pounds is unheard of

Well, there's why :D

It was really hard at first because my body was not use to it and I would have to force myself to eat. I would even feel sick eating.

Well I know what I gained. I weighed 100lbs  and and by one years time I weighed 175lbs. I must be a genetics mutant. Also went from over 20% body fat down to 6%. So it would have to be muscle unless some fat but I was eating healthy.

I have a friend who used to buy plenty of them. She was a weight lifter at times and used to prefer a high protein diet. Not sure if it was the protein shakes, the diet, the lifting or all 3 combined but she was pretty well defined sixpack and all.

Did you grow a lot height wise? Because if you lost 14% of your body fat and gained 75 pounds, there is no way that was all muscle.

That's not lean muscle, that's 75 pounds of weight. If you cut down your body fat from 20% to 6% (which is also really low, thats like body builder status), and gained 75 pounds, then you probably gained around 10-15 pounds of lean muscle which sounds about right.

I would of liked to do body building but everyone uses roids and I don't use those lol.

People do roids to get more buff and manly, but then their balls shrink up haha.

Eh, for that much weight I would say just eat more food in general; but, if you're really looking to invest, get protein with whey and you'll be fine. I don't have any brand recommendations, I just use the cheapest I can find. Make sure you do some type of lifting though, or else all that protein will go to waste

It theoretically takes 1 week to gain a pound of protein and that's only theoretical. In reality, it takes at least 2-3, so I'm not sure how that's possible unless you're genetics are killer :P

Alright. I'll speak to the store assistant and see what they recommend.

All the data on the net seems to be all over the place sometimes =\

Asking here is better =)

You should try working out for at least an hour or 90 minutes, along with protein shakes. I work out and find that shorter periods doesn't really help at all.
