First build cant decide on gpu

Im building a $1000 pc to get rid of my ps4 but can't decide on a graphics card I've been looking at the gtx 960 series, will I be able to run all of the up and coming games? also need to be able to run arma 3

Budget for the GPU? Other specs? 

 

The 960 isn't brilliant value. At that price range, you're better off looking at AMD's GPUs, or waiting for the new ones.

Also the 960 will be decent but you won't max out all the games, I have a 980 and can't go full out on GTA V with 60 FPS stable.

you should be using a 970 or ..maybe 980

I agree with Techguru, as always I would recommend the 980 since I have it myself and I LOVE it, and it annoys me that the 'gimped' the 970, that's my personal opinion though. But if you can't get the 980 due to your budget or maybe you just don't want it for some reason I would get the 970 and in the future upgrade to another 970!

I would get a 280x before a 960 its a better gpu for pretty much the same price
