Morrowind Character Creation Help

Hello,


I want to start playing Morrowind because that game is awesome ( got Morrowind Overhaul too ) but ive read so much stuff on the character creation part of it that im kinda lost in what to pick and all that

I want to use magic and also a long blade but its the skills like athletics which ive seen people say is necessary and speechcraft and all that so im lost! :D

Anyone help? If anyone still remembers the good stuff about this game since its pretty old!

I've just started to play Morrowind myself, but I think that part of the experience is trying to figure it out for yourself. The act of trying to figure it out yourself definitely helps getting engrossed in the game, in my opinion.

Yeah i know but sincei  dont know the game well yet, i dont want to pick a major skill for example which is hard to level up ( like enchanting ) and being stuck later on when ive already a lot

i'd need to get a new copy of morrowind first :/ been playing skyrim pretty much exclusively lately.

My old morrowind cd is a bit too worn out to work :(

good skills to have are (from my experience) magic based skills like alteration and conjuration

and attributes that might be good to have are personality and luck i guess^^

Speechcraft and merchantile are good to have aswell

Intelligence and magica bonuses take longer to build up (if i remember correctly) so investing in those at the start can be a good idea

Stealth is really nice to have when playing morrowind aswell,

it all depends on what you want your character to be :P

Leveling up is pretty weird in the game, i wonder if @Slick has anything to say since i THINK he likes Morrowind lol

Look up a power leveling guide for morrowind. In the end it doesn't really matter what you want to do. You should pick major/minor skills with an equal proportion of primary attributes.

When you first come off the ship, just look at what each class gives you. Certain races give boosts in certain areas. For the star sign I personally go with Tower because it means I don't really need a lock pick for a while but something that heals you would be useful. For the class itself which is the last thing you pick, just pick from the list and look at what the upsides and downsides of each are.

I made a character and all, took WAY too long to decide all that haha hard game to get into though, when NPC's have 2032425 different things you can ask them, and then you have 259435204 lines to read, need to get used to that again, skyrim/oblivion spoiled me!

No matter how complex it might be it will still be better than the oblivion conversation system XD that was soo bad

yeah that's what i meant^^ i mean i just intimidated,joked,admired and bribed the guy in a 2 minute conversation and now he likes me XD

Like everyone else has said, just play it.

When I used to play I went khajiit with light armor and good sneak. Duel wielded swords one dwarf dagger that paralysed and another ebony dagger that did a ton of shock damage.

On skyrim I play sword and spell but now that I have meh runes dagger I go duel swords again. Still khajiit. I'm stuck in one part though, there's a bit where the storm cloaks want to truce with the others at the greybeards place and they ask me to sit and when I do nothing happens...
