There is an interesting article on WCCF tech on how Kepler won't be optimized due to limited access to "GPU Codes"

What does this mean going forward?

Have the tides already began falling from Witcher 3?

The Kepler issues are a driver on Witcher 3 as far as we know are a driver bug.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

What does Witcher 3 have to do with this?

960 performance compared to kepler cards most likely but as @niofalpha said it's apparently a driver issue with the kepler cards .

According to the article, it looks like it's more than just a driver bug.

It's a WCCF Article, a site known for Sensationalism, rumors (usually false ones), and massive clickbait. It should be tottaly ignored as a "Credible" site...

And it's a 2 day old game, of course Drivers are going to be glitchy on cards which the game wasn't developed on...

It comes straight from Nvidia's head of Marketing.

It comes straight from Nvidia's head of Marketing.

The only quote from an the Head of marketing in the last year is this...

GameWorks improves the visual quality of games running on GeForce for our customers.  It does not impair performance on competing hardware.

Demanding source code access to all our cool technology is an attempt to deflect their performance issues. Giving away your IP, your source code, is uncommon for anyone in the industry, including middleware providers and game developers. Most of the time we optimize games based on binary builds, not source code.

The article mentions the Kepler Architecture once saying that it performs worse in a game which was made on Maxwell ._.

Like I said previously...

Ofcourse the Drivers are going to be buggy on release...

All the games that used Gameworks are going to be affected by this.

OIder gpus are going to have to wait and pray for the new drivers to come out and fix the issue.

This is what happens when you have 80 percent of the market. They can do whatever they want.

This has been the case on what? 1, 2 games? One not even 24 Hours old? The other, not even a gameworks game?

And of course they'll release the newer Drivers first, and the games will be more optimized for them...

Hairworks relies heavily on Tessellation, which is strong on Maxwell. Which if it's not a driver bug (Which it likely is...) could explain the lower performance.

Nvidia owns 20% of consumer graphics market...

And around 75% of the Dedicated GPU market.

Very unlikely a driver issue, although they may find a way to boost performance in drivers somehow.
