I've had my LG G3 for almost eight months now and to be quite honest, I haven't been very happy with it. My dad is upgrading from his flip phone to apparently a smartphone and he mentioned the Samsung Galaxy S5 Tough. I thought now I could convince him to take mine and he could get a new one and I could get it. It has to have a Micro-SIM size slot because that is what mine has.

So, should I convince him to get the S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note 4, or Note Edge? Let me know what you think.

S6 and S6E use Nano-SIM so those are out of the equation

Note Edge isn't worth the extra cost over the 4

So it'd be between the S5 and Note 4, and with that, it just depends how big of a phone you like

It's actually very easy to cut down a Micro-SIM down to Nano-SIM. I had to do this when I transitioned from my Nexus 5 to my Nexus 6. Just a large sharp pair of scissors and a cutting template downloaded from the internet.

I'd also like to chime in saying that why get the 4 when you can get the 3 for much less now. The only MAJOR differences I've been able to find are the 1440p screen vs 1080p, and a 10% faster processor, which is used to power that extra resolution. Wasn't impressed tbh, and there was also a $294 difference in price when I got mine, so there could be that too...

That's what I did and then when I needed to switch back to a Micro-SIM device it was a pain the butt cause I didn't have the money to get a new SIM or an adapter.

I also like the look of the Note 3 more then the 4. I don't know, I'm just more fond of the silver bezel and back stitching, even if the Note 4 feels better to hold.

Read OP? He's giving it to his dad.

Read it yourself, he said he wasn't too happy with it and I'm asking why out of curiosity.

I love their screens and cameras.

fair enough, I'd consider the note 4 if you don't mind the size. Not a huge fan of there other phones.

Oh I see, there's not much of the G3 that I would say is bad, aside from the relatively "boring" looking display

I never held one so Idunno, I replaced my last phone with a Z3, love it.

I bought a G3 to flip and I didn't like it either, the big reason it annoyed me though is that it's VERY lacking in headphone output volume, and I listen to my music through headphones at obscenely loud volume levels.

I'd have to say go with the S6 or the Note 4 if you absolutely have to get it now.

If you don't mind waiting a couple of months why not see what the Note 5 has in store? Should be an interesting device.

As for it having to have a micro SIM...why not just get a new one if need be? It's like $7.

Because I have AT&T.

So...that's an issue because...

I'm pretty sure they still have access to nano sims.

You guys have to pay for a new sim card?? And 7 bucks to boot? Another point for Sweden, we don't as far as I know.

But yeah contact AT&T and ask for a new sim card, all they have to do is press some buttons and it will transform your number over to the new card. (not your contacts)
