So I was around the internet today, and I was looking at this http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/desktops/erazer/x-series/x315/

When I saw

Graphics

AMD R9 255 2GB

I thought it was a typo until I looked it up, and it's legit.

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+R9+255

AMD... wtf are you doing? Why is the 255 an R9, when chips of higher tier and performance (260, 260X, 265) are R7?

"Rawr XD"

They're pure OEM cards, so there shouldn't be any real confusion when shopping normally for a GPU. Maybe OEMs pushed them to name those cards R9 becaue it looks and sounds better, or maybe "OEM cards" are lower tier in general, so even an R9 255 is worthy of the R9 name. Similar to mobile GPUs, just don't compare them to normal desktop parts, they have their own naming scheme.

oem most likely. People that buy prebuilt PC's are unlikely to care about naming schemes.

All anyone would care to check for in a prebuilt would be i7.

It's got an i7? Must be a quality built PC.
