I am going to building a gaming computer to run games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Battlefield 4 and I was wondering if a GTX 960 4gb would be bottle necked by a fx 6300 cpu?

if you already have the cpu then it isn't worth returning, but if you haven't bought it yet, I would get an i3 and b85 board.

go for an i3 and a b85/h97 motherboard, which will perform better and give you an upgrade path

Yeah, that's a really strong gaming system for 1080p and even 1440p, while the original system you posted was pretty weak for 1080p.
