The I5 would be the best thing you can get.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

Depends on your GPU, anything below 960/280X shouldn't bottleneck the FX

However, I suggest going for i3 4150 instead if you can't afford the i5. Intel CPUs are just better than AMD in gaming because of the stronger single core

So it depends on what games you play on, If they work better on higher performance cores but less of them then a i3/i5 would be a better option even an i5 from a generation or two ago would do better in that department however if the game can take good advantage of 6 Cores then go for the FX 6300, If I am honest if I were to make the choice again I'd go Intel Core i5 4670k.

the fx-6300 is fine imo, i used my gtx 970 on it with no problem and that was at stock. you can overclock it though to around 4.2ghz and it will be better.

people say intels so much better at gaming but when it comes down to it, its like 3-5fps max on most games.

Gpu: MSI 4G GTX 970 | Cpu: i5 4690k @4.6Ghz 1.23v | Cpu Cooler: Cryorig r1 ultimate | Ram: 1600mhz 2x8Gb corsair vengeance | Storage: sandisk ultra ii 128gb (os) 1TB WD Green | Psu: evga supernova g1 650watt | Case: fractal define s windowed |

It is not 3-5fps. People like you spouting misinformation is why threads like mine exist:

I think I know its true considering I had an fx-6300 and a gtx 970 and it ran with no problems.

With a less powerful GPU I noticed a significantly higher increase across almost all games. Other people's benchmarks will confirm. (@Faceman )
