SSD Now or Later?

AFlyingBuffalo

Hello!

I just have a quick question about whether I should get an SSD instead of an HDD and store some games and OS then save up for the HDD later, or go with an HDD now and get the SSD later.

Thank you in advance!

SSD. Always SSD.

Store your games on an HDD though. Games tend to be very big

Get the HDD first because you need space to store your games, if you dont get a big enough ssd you'd only get a few games.

ssd NOW. If you get a 256gb you will be fine for 3-4 weeks. It will be a HUGE pain later on to copy the os

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.

If you're willing to do a reinstall, go for the HDD and get an NVMe SSD later :D

For running OS, I recommended you SSD and for mass storage (such as games or music or videos etc) go for HDD. Trust me 250 gb for OS is more than enough. Crucial SSD is bang for the buck while WD HDD Blue is also bang for the buck

Get an SSD first. An HDD doesn't cost as much. I would recommend at least a 120gb SSD.

You don't need an SSD for a gaming rig.  Also if you have a very large gaming library and want all the games installed and at the ready for you to play them then you will likely want an HDD.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

just play a few games and get a ssd because from my experience people who download their entire steam library only play like 3 games anyways

Thank you guys for the extremely quick replies! I'm planning to get a 256GB SSD because there's one on sale at the store I'm buying my parts from, and I probably will put like 3 or 4 games on it for now (my most played ones) then I'll get the HDD later. Also is the ADATA Premier Pro SP600 a good SSD? That's the one I was planning to get.

Yup, A-Data is a reliable brand.

I know I don't NEED and SSD but, I probably won't need every game ready to play anyway and getting the SSD first seems like the most popular answer so that's what I'll go with. Thank you though!

I don't think I really want to spend the time doing a reinstall so SSD it is then!

Well I think you will enjoy the speeds an SSD will give you for boot times and loads times for cg movies and starting up games.  I don't need it but that doesn't mean others don't.  Enjoy your purchase.  Thanks for thanking me in trying to be of help to you.
