Hey guys, so I'm thinking of getting Windows 10 Technical Preview, and I'm wondering which games actually run on the tech. preview and which actually kinda use DX12..?

So will I be able to run Steam, Black Ops 2, Witcher 3 (on 19th may), ARMA 3 and games like that?

Also, will anything run smoother than on Win 7?

Is there already a driver for my GTX 970?

Should I upgrade?

I would just wait as it's technically not finished. Probably stable, but I don't like that fact that microsoft keeps a record of your key strokes.. Also nothing except tech demos run DX12 afaik.

No. It's a technical preview for a reason. You should never use non-stable software on your main rig. Yes, it looks good at a first glance, but when something goes wrong and it usually does, it costs you so much time.

I am sorry for my english.

It's not very stable at the moment. Just hold out until July or something.

There will be a new build very soon which is meant to be pretty good, if you want to try it do it then.

It's actually out of the Technical stage now!

Is is beta already?

I believe so, the build name now says "Windows 10 Insider Preview".

I really wish they just stuck with beta/rc/rtm or even developer/consumer/release preview. just made more sense.

You are not holding it correctly.

I use windows 10 TP since December for free, only problem I had was that some games would crash after a bit (any game with hl2.exe basically) but that's been fixed. Never had a Blue screen or crash.

Its not even a 'technical preview' anymore but an 'evaluation copy'
