As said before, it depends on what you're doing. That was just a better $1,000 build for the price.

I would only get 8 GB of ram instead of 16; you can always upgrade in the future if you want more, but I don't see the need for 16 at the moment.

You don't have to have a SSD.

No, but it makes a MASSIVE difference.

No, but it makes a MASSIVE difference.

Only if you're using programs that have to load a lot of files such as an OS, programs like Photoshop or a game like BF4. I wouldn't buy a SSD if you're doing a new build and are just gaming. It's not really worth it. I think it's more of a 'down-the-road' thing when your HDD becomes slower or if you are content creating on Photoshop or other programs like that. That's my opinion though.

I wouldn't buy a SSD just for loading up your OS at a faster rate; it's not worth the money.

EDIT: This is getting off topic, so I'm going to end it now. Anyway, good luck with your build, dude.

It's not just for booting the OS. The OS is made up of many small files and performs much more responsively when on a ssd.

You just said an OS, everyone has that...  SSD makes a lot more difference in my opinion, than you are implying.

K

it does, browser pops up in an instant, every other app too, you can fit a few games on it. I would NEVER buy a computer without SSD anymore, I'd rather be stuck with 120gb of space than have 1TB of slowness.

Correct; I never said only a select few people have an OS. I'm just simply stating that if you want a faster load up and other qualities with your OS, go for a SSD. You said he didn't have a SSD as if it was a necessity. In my opinion, I feel like that $50-$100 can be spent on something to increase performance rather than loading or speed. Once again, I said it was my opinion, so okay.

My PC boots up in 10 seconds, and I don't have a SSD. It's my personal choice not to have a SSD, and I am fine without it. I was making a suggestion and letting the person know you don't HAVE to have a SSD. You can have your opinion, and I can have mine.
