Math question

Alright, so suppose I have three numbers: 45, 53, and 59. Now, the average of these numbers is 52. What do I need to change the last number (59) to in order to get that average up to at least a 60? I feel stupid for not remembering how to do this, so that's smarter folk. :D

If you want an average of 60, you need all the numbers combined to be 180.

180-45-53 = 82

If you want an average of 60, you need all the numbers combined to be 180.

180-45-53 = 82

 

Just do 45 + 53 + x = 180 so in this case the last number should be 82.
