Not entirely sure what is happening with DX12's release. Is it using the CPU more or less? Don't know whether to spend more on CPU and downgrade GPU or other way around. Does it have a distinguishable performance increase with more CPU threads? Somebody halp D:

Thanks ^.^

Nobody really knows anything about DX12 yet.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Downgrading the GPU is a stupid idea mate. DirectX 12 is supposed to reduce CPU overhead but we need to wait and see when it is properly released.

It's gonna be so long until we are going to see DX12 titles, so no point focusing on that.

DX12 will improve draw-call performance. When PCper did an early benchmark, it showed that having more cores improves draw-calls per second. According to their benchmark, the i7 5820k showed the best price/performance compared to the 5830k and 5860k.

Direct X12 and Vulkan have Lower CPU usage. the CPU overhead is reduced. In addition to being reduced the workload is effectively distributed over more CPU cores.

To answer your question for gaming you should generally spend more on the GPU. This new generation of APIs will also push further in that direction. Your fx-6300 CPU will definitely benefit.

Only time will tell ... Until then , it's just speculation and rumours ...

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...
