Apple has offered $280 million to acquire Primesense, an Israel-based 3D-sensor company, the newspaper Calcalist reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the negotiations. According to that report, Apple has designs on including the sensor technology in some of its products and would rather acquire the company than license its services.

Either we'll see hand gestures and other sorts of things come to iPhone/iPad soon, or maybe Apple is gearing up for a new iTV? Or maybe a iConsole?

I guess we will see how this one pans out ;)

Apple Logic:

Buy something so you don't have to pay licensing fees, make it popular, then sell it off to the highest bidder when you're done with it.

Or license it out yourself.
