[CS:GO] Valve changed some mic codecs?

Couple days ago I've noticed that mics started to work other way: the sound is now clean, smooth, just like if everyone used skype or teamspeak. But there were no updates the day it started, neither the day before.

Still, everyone I've played with also noticed that sound change. This is the only valve's cs:go update I really like so far.

Anyone else's also experiencing such stuff?

Teamspeak really is the gold standard for high quality sound in gaming. When I play BF4, I call tell the difference between the sound quality in TS players vs those using VOIP in game. I use both myself.

So could this be leading to a glitch that makes peoples mics sound like they have a voice changer? Or is that the stupid assholes that think that's funny

Everybody who plays. Some also use teamspeak. VOIP in game is necessary for teamwork should the entire squad not be using teamspeak.

I noticed that too. My immediate reaction after first round on latest patch was: "holy shit, this kid has great mic. Is he or his brother a streamer ?!"

But as days went by I realised it was the patch.

People who don't play with friends but random players and still want them to play as a team ?

There is no game that automatically instals team speak for game users and puts them on the server and into rooms, yet.

Also, not everybody can be asked to copy and paste your team speak URL and connect to you.

Hope your curiosity is gone now.
