I am looking for a gtx 970 (or possibly an equivalent performing GPU), but all brands seem to have some type of problem.  Problems with displays ports working, coil whining etc...  I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.  I looking to do mostly gaming with my new build (no video editing).

thanks,

Mike

Either EVGA or MSI for the GTX 970. Stay away from the Asus 970s, they have lots of problems

Nude Fist 1: i5-4590-ASRock h97 Anniversary-16gb Samsung 1333mhz-MSI GTX 970-Corsair 300r-Seagate HDD(s)-EVGA SuperNOVA 750b2

Name comes from anagramed sticker for "TUF Inside" (A sticker that came with my original ASUS motherboard)

Out of the box, Gigabyte have the best built 970s. However EVGA has the best customer service, in the case that something does go wrong.

I love how people recommend EVGA when they were the one's cheaping out on their cooler for the video card when they launched the 900 series.  I would buy anything but EVGA at this point.  I understand their good warranty but whatever.  Also considering how Nvidia lied about the memory with the GTX 970 why not look at getting an R9 290 card cheap?  If you don't need PhysX then this definitely is an option for you.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I would just get a R9 290x. It might output more heat and require more power but it's almost the same in performance and much much cheaper.

I have a stupid question:  I have been leaning more towards the nvidia cards because of the G-sync option, does AMD have a similar feature to G-sync?

thanks

I stick with EVGA, they are just legendary with their customer service.

another good option is the gigabyte g1 gaming, but honestly i`d suggest keeping to EVGA.
