I was wondering what Intel® HD Graphics were, i used to think it was a driver, but now i'm not sure. I wanted to get a i5-4690K with Intel® HD Graphics 4600, and i was wondering what does that really even mean? Any answer is appreciated!

Intel HD Graphics is the graphics processor that is included on the intel cpu. it is fine for most day to day uses, but it isnt' that great for gaming.

It is a basic graphics chip inside the processor. It will run everyday tasks but lacks performance that an actual graphics card would have. 

 

Simply put, a basic GPU.

The only thing remotely useful about HD Graphics for gamers is for people who like to stream, using Intel Quick Sync. Since I think streaming is retarded I just got a Xeon without integrated graphics. I guess you can make the argument the integrated graphics is helpful if your GPU dies and you have to RMA it, but don't most of us have old PCIE cards we can throw in for a couple of weeks while waiting for a repair?

Its useful to me. Can game well on 720p low. That's useful to me. I don't have a dgpu right now.
