Liquid MetalPad - GPU

Go to solution Solved by AlwaysFSX,

I'd say just run FurMark until you go above 58C and you're good to go according to the manual.

Hey, folks

so, this week (maybe even tomorrow) I will receive my set of Liquid MetalPads from Coollaboratory for my GPUs. The application is pretty straightforward, I just wanted to ask about the burn-in process for the liquification of the pads, which they don't specify much. The melting point is roughly 58°C, btw. So will running Unigine Valley at Extreme HD for say, 5-10 minutes be enough? or do you recommend anything else?

Many Thanks

Scotty

I've personally never used the CoolingLabratory stuff but it does have a good explanation here on their results, one thing is make sure you insulate or prevent the metal pad from getting on any resistors or contacts that may be on the GPU die itself since it is conductive metal:

I'd make sure that the heat sink isn't made of aluminium because gallium absabsolutely destroys it (I assume that is what the pad is made of anyway).

The base is copper I think, so it should be safe :) BUT... I will do a quick Google search just to be safe :D

EDIT: This should be it, so safe :)
