What i would do is visit the world of custom roms.

It took me a while to get the hang of it. But it's worth it, well that's what i think of it.

as a person who has rooted every (smart) phone i ever had, i can say that you should definitely root your S5!

there are a few cons tough. biggest con is that you void your warranty. so if you drop it or something and the thing shatters, you can't get a new one through warranty and you'll have to pay top dollar for a new one or a repair.

that being said, if you really want to get rid of bloatware and move apps to an SD, (or remove some previously irremovable apps alltogether) rooting is pretty much the best option for you.

also, don't get me started on the whole new world of custom ROMs you could flash! :D

I have T-Mobile, so I would still be able to root right? What's this bootloader issue?

I'll look into that. You think you could help me by linking something?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and I recently got an SD card and can barely move any apps onto the SD card. I also would like to know what advantages there are to rooting and which mod should I go for? I'm fairly tech savvy but phones are not my forte :c

Thanks!

I alwasy root my phone the day I get it but that's since I run a lot of root required apps and don't like bloatware, well that's sorted now with my Oneplus One.

I didn't get any insurance for the phone so I think I would be fine plus I got a case for it.

if i where you i would go check out the XDA forums. they can answer any question you might have on there. also, they have an amazing collection of developers who are constantly bringing out new software for all different phones!

i'll post a link HERE

Heyyo,

Off Topic, but the OnePlus One no longer has an invite system... you can buy one 24/7 meow. The upcoming OnePlus 2 will have an invite system at first as OnePlus will gauge their slim margins to make sure they can still provide the phone without going bankrupt and such... they are still a relatively small company. :P

Now, on topic again heh, rooting is handy if you want stuff like Viper Audio to improve the audio quality via Auxiliary or Bluetooth. Otherwise? Rooting is good to nuke any bloatware or to use the Xposed framework.

Like this:

http://www.androidauthority.com/top-xposed-framework-modules-511944/

Also, Xposed framework also features the Colorfade memory leak fix for people on Android Lolipop where their stock Android build doesn't have the fix built in. My HTC One M7's HTC Sense 6 build of lolipop for example did not have it fixed, so I used the Xposed framework fix for that. Now it can multitask better and animations or the homescreen don't cramp up my RAM. :)

As you own a samsung device, I suggest you. it's pretty easy on samsung phones and getting rid of touchwiz by flashing a custom rom is in my opinion a must. in terms of sd usability, I haven't had much success back in the day of my note 2, but rooting would certainly open some doors. here's a tip from personal experience: if you do go down the rooting road, learn to use the XDA forum as early as possible, it is soooooo useful ! Good luck.
