Always on operation concerns

Go to solution Solved by Whaler_99,

Running at 100% won't be the issue. The issue is volts and temps. Keep your temps below 70C and you should be ok and don't pump to many volts if OC'ing.

Now I've read the Q&A in this F@H post, but I'm a little concerned. I have a 5820K running on a ASUS X99-E WS (which is made for always on operation with its 12K capacitors, not worried here) with a reference GTX 980 this processor is watercooled with a H100i GTX. Should be noted that I have a AX1200i. Since I'm so worried, I'll probably disable the overclock on it when folding. I don't want my processor to die from this. I expect 15+ hours every day having this CPU pinned at 100% load with 3.3-3.5 GHZ on all 6 cores. Would I be fine with this? How long should it last? I'll probably have a couple of ghetto mounted fans all over this computer if needed.

As long as your temps are okay you should be fine.

I'm folding on my 680 @ 70% power (still boosting somehow) and at my 4670k completely stock (including cooler) and I'm not going above 75 on my 680 and not above 70 on my 4670k

Sig under construction.

My 660 Ti is sitting at 51C as we speak while overvolted and overclocked(folding). Granted, the fans are at 41% and it's a DirectCUII cooler.
