Dont know if i want to OC my g3258

so im having a really hard time deciding if i want to OC my g3258

I want that extra fps in far cry 4, i record my gameplay and it stays around 30-60fps with very very few drops into the 27-29 range.

I play at medium. And i know ur all gonna be like "wtf how do u get that fps while using DXTORY to record far cry 4 on a pentium dual core" and tbh i have no clue i thought my pc was gonna shit itself but its handling it like a champ. Doesnt even reach 100% cpu capacity. Highest was 96% cpu capacity while recording. And it hasnt gotten over 60* not even close, highest temp was 56-57*.

And it would also help me with rendering videos.

But im not sure if i want to void the warrenty on it.

Its only a 70$ cpu so i guess if it died it wouldnt be too bad.

Im using the stock heatsink so i would only OC to maybe 3.7-4.0ghz.

What are your guyses thoughts?

I really cannot decide

I have an ASROCK Z97 extreme 3 mobo. And a 600watt psu with a gtx750ti, so my build doesnt take too much wattage to run. Around 150-200 if i estimate correctly

Well you did, because right now, dual core cpu's dont even start with FC4 without a pirated copy.

Anyways, if you OC, they dont know it, so might as well go ahead

Actually it will run dual core on non-pirated copies, you just have to do some file tweaking, i had to on my pirates version as well :D

The game is great tho, ill buy it legit once i get the cash.

Go ahead, overclocking your CPU won't really make a difference in the lifespan. It might die a year early but who cares, you'll probably replace it before then (5 years).

Why wouldn't you OC? It doesn't void your warranty and it increases performance.

First things first if you pirate don't tell us that is one sure fire way to get your posts deleted......also its good do OC your CPU. That is practically what it was made for. Also you can play Far Cry 4 legit with two cores you just need to use an injector thingy to allow you to play it.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

Mines running 4.2ghz at less than 70C the jump from 3.2 to 4.2 is HUGE I'd recommend it all day long.

No, the stock cooler is just fine for moderate overclocks on dual-core CPUs. That's what I've heard, anyway.

Why is the God of Hyperdeath SO...DARN...CUTE!?

Also, if anyone has their mind corrupted by an anthropomorphic black latex bat, please let me know. I would like to join you.
