Can anyone provide me a good GPU and CPU combo upgrade under 280 dollars :3 and also the GPU has to be under 300 mm long

Also try to ignore the 4gb of ram

Don't forget to follow your own topics,

I would go for an I5 as an upgrade to the cpu and a R9 280 for the gpu.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Will a low end i5 work?

Just get the I5 4690k, if you are just using 1 1080p monitor that card will suffice until you get $200 for a GTX 960

also i do recommend at least 8 GB of total RAM

i5 4440 + R9 280X (not sure if that would fit) + 2x4GB RAM.

From, what he has got it's not worth upgrading to anything worse than an I5 and a 280.

$280 is a little low for finding a combination of hardware that will perform a lot better than what you currently have. It would have to be upgrade either the CPU or GPU. It would depend on the games you want to play, and what those games depend mostly on (CPU or GPU).

But he cant do both of those for $280, only 1, and his CPU is his bottleneck right now

Unless he was to upgrade to an I3 and a R9 270. He might as well put all his money into an I5 now and then get a R9 280 or a even better card later.

This is what I am saying, which is why i recommended the I5 4690k

In that position I would go with the 280 now and then get an I5 later.

Pretty sure he changed it.. It was 300 before I think..

Anyways, anything below what I suggested was not really a worthy upgrade.

He could probably do i3 4160+270X too, but eh..

No point getting a K processor as he couldn't over clock on that mobo.

Why would you get an i5 4690K on a H81 motherboard.. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me combined with an R7 250X GPU

I didn't change the budget, I think the i3 4130 with 270 non-x is a good combo but I wonder if there is going to be anything better, I also like the idea of having an i5 and save up money for the GPU in the future...

For the very budget minded person having a overclocked processor hardly ends up with any extra performance in actual games.

Well if you don't get a new GPU now, he will barely see any performance increase, so it really doesn't make sense to me.

You want him to spend a whole lot of money now, on something that really wont be utilized thanks to the motherboard (no OC'ing) and GPU (bottleneck heaven :) ).

IMO you're better off spending money on something like an i5 4440 and R9 270(x) (so the CPU is still good and you can upgrade the GPU later down the line if you are not happy with the performance you're getting in a year or so time)

Take note that I am not a person that needs overclocking (though it would be nice but not needed for me) for my system.

So that means you would be fine sticking with the mobo you have at the moment and getting an I5 4460.
