GTA online question

I just started playing GTA online yesterday. I'm level/rank 8 and whenever I join a job, I usually drop dead within seconds of opening fire. It seems like my character can't take a single hit or something... everytime this happens, I get "(Job/Heist/whatever) failed, nj4ck died"... Does that mean that my death has caused the entire mission to fail for everyone else too?

I really don't get it, and I don't get how I'm supposed to get started with this game anyways.. its just confusing, I constantly get invited to jobs with players lvl 40+ and I constantly get kicked before I can join.

I have no idea what to make of this game... its super fun when I'm doing races and other things, but as soon as firearms are involved, I seem unable to be of any use to anybody. How do I get started in GTA online?

It seems harder on PC which confuses me tbh.

 

Try to get on a hill, take as much cover as possible and that's all there is to it tbh.

A good thing to do is grind your stats up. Shooting in particular, it makes you more accurate. Host your own jobs and invite people, that way you're not getting missions designed for level 40+

Only heists, not missions. As long as one person is alive in a mission, it should carry on.

Learn to aim and stay in cover. You can shoot from cover.I rarely ever die on missions or heists. Its such a piss off when your almost done a mission and someone dies. Do you have a mic? Honestly if someone doesn't have a mic I kick them cause 9/10 they're useless lol

great, that means I have caused about 50 missions to fail and everyone hates me  :lol:

just do you own mission until you get your first heist. heist are hard and require high level player to take advantage of gears.

Dying once doesn't fail the mission. If you're doing heists, it will fail, but you're not really meant to do heists until level 12 at least anyway.

Yesterday I played the human labs raid while I was lev. 7 and it was fine.

We all died once because the helicopter was shot down but we could start it again at a checkpoint.

Oh and one player died on our way to the helicopter, car accident.

It's important cause you need to communicate who's doing what. I see why you get kicked :lol: Its like any other shooting game. Communication is key to success. If no one communicates you will more then likely fail.

You can use your phone or go to the online options menu. You just wont be able to make your own heists until lvl 12.

seems logical, but I never hear people using the voicechat for anything useful... like just now I was doing a mission where we had to get a prison bus and everyone drove off, one of them using my car. I had to steal a car, but I took a different route and got to the prison bus faster than they did anyway. I waited for them and when they arrived, one of them got in the bus and suddenly everything was full of cops. All of them were in the bus and I was about 50 yards away, surrounded by cops. I died, the mission failed and never once did I hear anyone using the voicechat to communicate. Was I just unable to hear them or what did I do wrong? Its just confusing to me..

Not sure cuase I dont play missions with people who dont use mics. When I start a lobby and someone joins first thing I ask is, do you have a mic?.. If there's no answer I kick. See no one communicated and you failed. Normally you'd all go in the same car. Take out helicopter first. Then kill the bus driver and take the bus. Finally just lose the cops. Easiest way is to take the bus to the coast. That's a fairly easy mission even on HARD. The thing is you gotta find people who are willing to help you out and since you have no mic thats gonna be difficult..

my webcam has a mic, but I'm not sure if I can use that, since it will pick up my speakers as well...

That could work. Its push to talk. Its worth a try. Oh and to stop people from taking your car press"M" and there should be an option to limit the players who use your car from no one to just friends or passengers. If you didn't also know already you can buy snacks for health and eat them during missions .. Taking cover only fills your health bar  to half. So snacks are very important. And you can also buy extra armor from ammu nation so if you lose your armour you can just press "m" go the armour menu and put on fresh armour..

Huh, never experienced this myself. Maybe it's because I did my first jobs and small game modes yesterday at rank 13. Either way, does seem a little off.
