Hey everyone. I had a question on how does G2A work? I see games and software on there site for very cheap, but wanted to know a few answers.

1. Is it a trusted site?

2. are you buying just the keys, or the full game?

3. if you are buying the keys only, where do I download the game to input the bought key?

Thanks for reading everyone.

Never had a single problem, spent well over $400 there.

You're buying a key, then you redeem the key on either origin/steam/uplay or whatever it tells you the key is for.

1. I've used G2A at least 5 or 6 times and from my experience it seems to be a reliable site with a lot of cheap games :)

2. It's usually the keys which are emailed to you in one form or another

3. Some games are steam ones, which you put the code into steam client. Others are for origin like battlefield.

Hopefully I answered most of your questions. If not ask away..

People who have no experience yet call it shit incoming..

I have used it many times, it is a grwat service.

1. Yes

2. You buy the keys which then activate on the platform bought for and then it grants you access to download the full game

3. It depends as some keys are for Origin, UPlay, Steam etc.

1. Yes.. bought from it multiple times. Dont have no problems from Origin or Steam.

2. Keys result in the FULL GAME.

3. They specifically tell you how to install these keys and from which program. It's labeled..

4. Their chat is great too.. they deliver the best support in my opinion. Didnt have any problems with them.

Hmm that's where it gets strange.

It seems 50% get perfect keys that work superb and never have any problems

50% seem to get trial keys that only last a year or have problems.

Bought a Watchdogs key recently, was deactivated by uplay because it was fraudulent. It's been about a month now and G2A aren't even replying to me at this point. No refund and I bought from a seller that has sold like 20k keys n shit. Was only about $5 and it's not worth the effort at this point but it was my first and also my last purchase from G2A.

I've bought some keys from them. While most of them are ok I had some problems with two keys (one for Windows 8.1 license and another for Outlast) that were blocked 6 months after purchase because they were blacklisted.

I do tend more to "fish" for price reductions on steam / origin /humble bundle or any other vendor supported stores than what the community offers. The prices are good but it's also a risk you are taking.

1. Is it a trusted site?

A:It can be trusted if you buy from a reputable merchant, also has a buyer protection fee if you did not recieve a key.

2. are you buying just the keys, or the full game?

A: You are buying full games.

3. if you are buying the keys only, where do I download the game to input the bought key?

A: You can have the key emailed to you, as I usually have it done.

Other thoughts: I have sold about 5 keys and it's a nice way of making some side $. Bought a few games there as well with smooth transactions. Oh yeah, if you see them on social media/facebook advertising "5 keys for $1" Don't buy it. It's usually games from a decade and beyong ago..

Give the thread time to mature, more people will post and share their experience good or bad. I bought from G2A on the good word of my friend and he's had some go wrong but most work fine if you buy from good rated sellers. That being said I was hesitant to buy from a 3rd party source and one going wrong was enough to prove to me that my worries were not unfounded.

Twice the price? Something like five times the price.

Price difference for Windows 8.1

MS Store = $119.99

Reddit MSSoftwareSwap = $20.00

While I agree you may get issues down the line, the keys seem to last a while. Sellers on reddit have been there for 3 years with decent ratings. Keys are legit MS keys also (as you can download ISO directly from MS using them). They just may have been acquired in an illegitimate manner or without an actual licence (to go along with the key).

Post from a guy on reasons why these might be illegitimate.

Hey man, I don't mean to be a party pooper, but what you are doing is probably not legit. Remember that Microsoft does not sell any software. They use a licensing model. They license their software to companies and people. You pay for a licence and receive a "key" to unlock the software. So if you are selling keys without licenses, it's not legit. It's like selling someone the key to a house without the deed. Sure you can get in, but is it your legal right to use it? I have been in this industry for more than 15 years and have taken courses on Microsoft Licensing. I assume your are getting these keys from a TechNet subscription, MSDN subscription or a Microsoft action pack. Or maybe since you are in school, you found your way into your school's software package. You may not even know what any of that stuff is.

Microsoft also works through authorized distributors. They keep very tight pricing tiers on their software. You can find great deals on Microsoft software but chances are, your are not elligible. For example, they have a "donation program" for most of their software but you have to qualify2 (TechSoup). You sound like a great guy but man you could get into a lot of trouble for this. I really hope your operation is legit and everything turns out for you. In my opinion you should really investigate your sources for these keys. Make sure you are not screwing yourself over. Good luck man. Also keep in mind that Microsoft has discontinued many of the software programs mentioned above and eventually the keys will be deactivated.

Again, im sorry to burst your bubble but all I see here is lemmings walking off a cliff.

This type of thing has be going on for a long time.

I stopped trusting it, especially when it took me 4 hours to get a product and I had to contact customer support. I feel that sites like that are pretty shady and I tend to try and keep away.

From what's it sounds. Seems like it's kinda a mixed bag of reviews. I guess I could try it on games that are overpriced still on steam and etc... And see what happens. Then go from there.

Yeah after browsing that Reddit MSSoftwareSwap "store", there's no way he's selling those keys in a legit manner. As that quote you've made states, the person is likely correct: MSDN or TechNet keys.

THIS is the reason why they shut down the TechNet program - because too many people were abusing it. Which sucks, because I used TechNet, and thought it was an excellent toolkit for an IT Professional to test deployments and try out and learn various Microsoft software. I could afford TechNet - I can't afford MSDN.

Anyway @Cgermino89 it comes down to this: odds are you will not have any issues. Most keys will work. They generally come from 3rd world markets/poor countries that have cheaper game prices because of the disparity in economy compared to US/GB/Western Europe, etc.

However, some keys come from stolen credit cards or other fraudulent situations.

There have been instances where the software devs/publishers have mass blocked fraudulent keys that ended up on G2A. In one instance, Ubisoft blocked thousands of keys that people bought from G2A, because the G2A merchants sold the customers keys that were illegal.

Honestly, it sucks for the user, since they pay money to G2A thinking they are getting a legal product.

For things like Game Keys, I would start by keeping an eye out for Steam Sales, and sales on GOG.com, GreenManGaming.com, Origin, HumbleBundle, etc. These places are all authorized resellers, and often have extremely good sales (50% off or even 75% off, for example).

If you're looking to buy Windows, then just be careful on G2A, and don't buy from a seller with low rating or that doesn't have a lot of previous sales.

Odds are, you'll be fine, and your keys will all work. Most people have good experiences there.

It's buyer beware though, in any case, since G2A is a grey market, and not everything they sell is legitimate.
