I filed in an error with the new 15.4 drivers for AMD, explaining that I get lower fps, with my specific setup, and made a list of the hardware.

Does AMD actually look into this and take it into account?

Can we expecta fixed driver soon? :D or not ?

It would be stupid if they didn't look in the bug reports and stuff.

But if they can't reproduce the problem or you're the only with the problem, there's not much they can do

Isn't that the beta driver you're using?

Stop for a moment and think of what a "beta" driver entails....

Also, what game are you having these issues on?

Try rolling back to Omega drivers if it's not GTA V you're having issues with.

It IS GTA V :-D Had MAJOR Fps drop Down to 15 fps with Radeon HD 6990, as I've shown in another topic.

It's supposed to be optimized for THAT specific game, which is why I updated. When I rolled back to the omega driver, I got my fps back Again :-P.

It's a common issue apparently, try google mate.

Here's a couple fixes people claim to have worked -

Disable turbo core in BIOS

fresh, clean install of GPU drivers

change the game's process priority to "high" in task manager

Other than that, wait for more GTA V updates, or a new ATi (AMD) driver.

Guess I'll just keep playing it with the omega driver, it runs it at 25-80 fps, depending on what scenery :-D

Eh, AMDs beta drivers are quite stable. They don't release too many snapshot releases because they have to pay for whql certification.

Whether you think they are stable or not, they are still beta drivers. There are other factors to take into account, as well as the game itself being the issue, rather than anything the OP can fix himself.

Considering OP is having issues with a game, this is not exactly the #1 place to go. Using Google, there are many others having similar issues. All OP achieved by asking here, is bypassing a Google search by himself, for others to do it for him.

Did i specifically say it was the beta driver being the cause of OP's issue? No. And as i already said, it can just be down to the game itself, check my prior post. It seems you did not read my post(s).

I clearly stated that AMD beta drivers are really not "beta" since AMD skips a lot of builds in order to avoid paying for WHQL certification.

I wrote here to get some insight that isn't on Google. Not every techie who manages to fix  a problem like this goes into a forum and writes about it. So where better to ask, than linus"techtips" ?

I've been trying different crossfire profiles, none of them seem to do the job properly. Running it on AFR friendly or Default seems to be "best" . Fps around 25 and up to 60 fps at scenery.

Strange enough, when I first load into the savegame, i got 60-80 fps, I go to the car, and start driving around, i got 30-40 fps. Understandable.

After I'm driving around for like 10 minutes, fps drops to 18-25. (Nothing gets hot or throttles.)

After i get "WASTED" and spawn at the hospital Again, BOOM 60-80 fps. For a short while Again.

Could be, but i tested with my Brothers PC. He has a geforce 580 GTX 1.5gb ram.

Same settings show up as 1400 / 1500 MB of VRAM at him,

which they do as 3700/4000 MB on my 6990. So I think GTA does take crossfire Cards into account, and doesn't consider the memory stacked.

As stated, i am below the 4GB, so I should be fine there.

Not a lot of other possible reasons other than the fact that it could be running out of VRAM.

It doesn't exactly matter if GTA takes CFX cards into account or not; it's 2GB duplicated regardless of what game you're playing. I don't know how GTA is keeping track of this, but you seem awfully close to the limit. My 280X reports around 2300/3072MB used, which leaves me with a bit of headroom, but still considerably less unused VRAM compared to other games. Optimization comes at a cost, I guess.

There isn't really a direct comparison between a HD 6990 and a GTX 580, as there are different optimizations for AMD and Nvidia cards in GTA5.  I suppose your best bet would be to turn down the settings a bit. Maybe these issues will be ironed out in future driver releases.

Older gpu architectures including Tahiti (7950/R9 280) have issues with GTA V. GTA V also has issues with crossfire scaling. You also have quite a low amount of vram.

All this could easily explain your low framerates.
