I agree with everything on your build list, except maybe the Radeon R9. You don't need that power supply too, you can save some cash going for the AX760, it'll make no difference. My inner techie is also condemning your choice of Razer Peripherals, but that's up to you.

Grats on your 500 posts by the way ;)

The following comment is a personal experience, but I have really bad experience with Gigabyte windforce. I owned 2 R0 290's and both broke within 2 months.. In generel I'm done with AMD and specially Gigabyte.

Again, this is a personal experience but I thought like I'd share this with you

-edit-

that PSU us a little overkill but if it's second hand and cheap I'd go for it! (Make sure it's from a trustable person because the PSU is a really important part in your build)

Shame about the windforce cards. I've had really good experiences with them! Not too sure if I'm actually going to be geting the PSU second hand. Now that I think about it, I might just get 1 better card when the 290X becomes unreliable. So I will downgrade that PSU substantially.

If that PSU is from a trustable source you could maybe get a 295x2, they are getting cheaper by the day and it's a beast GPU

295x2 is mega overkill. I'm going with the 290X because it's only $400 AUD which is TONNES off it's normal price.

Ah sorry, didn't see your location.. Australia and it's uber expensive technology, rip.

Also, overkill is best kill ;)

Thanks. I got the Razer Keyboard because it was the best keyboard they had. And I was using store credit so I couldn't have just bought it anywhere else.

The R9 290X is only $400, which is about $80 off normal price. And is $120 cheaper than a 970. And I have had better experience with 290Xs than I have 970s.

My idea was that if you're getting these specs, you wouldn't really be on a budget :)

Was just throwing out ideas ^_^

Would still change the Powersupply to the AX760 though

What would be a good fully modular PSU that isn't too expensive?

I'd go with the corsair RM's, really good PSU's.

I wouldn't try to save too much on a PSU though, powering your beast needs proper power

That's true. But I'd still like to save a tad of money. Less wattage doesn't mean worse power. It just means not as much.

Oh not talking about more W's, just saying that you shouldn't get an ubercheap 850W psu just because it's cheap. better invest a little more and get a corsair RM850 80+ gold. You'll never have to look at that again

I think I'll just keep the 750w EVGA one I've been thinking about.

Thanks for the credit. I'm curious to see how and what paint you'll be using for that stencil. I'm planning on doing some kind of stencil'd art on a side panel for my 2nd build.

I'm not sure what paint to use :L Anti-Thermal is really expensive. Not really worth it for just the side of the case.

Well there we have it! I'll probably use automotive paint (maybe matte) on mine to give it an urban effect.

Can't wait to see pictures! Make sure you take good care of the case's window as a few people have had problems with it scratching.

Good luck :)
