First things First, What the Max price you wish to spend

Setting a price can help us on the Fourms get you better and newer parts that are convenient and better for the newer game releases

As he says, also what will you use it for? Need an operating system and case.

The motherboard you chosen sticks out as not a good choice and I would recommend a SSD these days

CPU: I5-4440 / MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z87-DS3H / RAM: G.Skill ripjaws 2x4GB / Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 128gb SSD, 1TB WD HDD / PSU: Corsair CX500M / Case: Xigmatek Aquila / Monitor: Dell U2414H

Change that motherboard.. go for Z97 because B85 is not good with 4790k. You cant OC on B85.

Well what is it for?

You won't be able to use full potencial of the CPU with that MBO.

If it is gaming PC get i5 4690K and Z97 motherboard instead.

Also get CPU cooler, CM212 is great for the price.

Other than that it looks good :)

Edit: Also I would get better case.

Give us a number. Like 1000 USD or whatever your currency is.

you can not use the onlocked part of the 4790K with that mobo.

if you are planing to game on this machine get the I5 4670K or I5 4690K (almost no difference between the too) and then get a Z87 or Z97 mobo.

get a better case and a Hyper 212 EVO or Be Quiet! Shadow Rock so you can OC on your I5

if you are not planing to OC get the I5 4670 or I5 4690 and stick with that mobo and spent some extra on an SSD

You don't need i7 for gaming, get i5 4690K and use saved money to get Z97 motherboard, or give me budget and I will try to get as much power for your money as possible :)

You Don't need a i7 4790K, the i5's ili199 mentiond are good for current Gaming and is cheaper, i myself have a i7 4790 becasue i want to be ready for future gaming, a i7 isn't the best choice if you want to save money and are on a budget

do i really need to change mobo and cpu

I5 4670 or I5 4690, both are cheaper than the i7 4790K and performs just about the same for gaming,

Motherboard is a yes, go Asus becasue they are some of the best MoBo's for Gaming Build's

4790K is overkill for gaming and that motherboard will slow it down, get 4690K with Z97 motherboard or even cheapest haswell i5 with h81 board if you want to save money.

Yes, to be real the mobo you have selected now is crap for the CPU you have. you can't use the potansial power in your cpu.

get the I5 and a Z87 or Z97 mobo.

I made the mistake of buying a Asus ROG board. they are good boards but they are just to expensive in my opinion. MSI or Gigabyte give you the same or better boards for a lower price.
