Maybe buy some anti-static bags from eBay or similar and store it in one of those in a small cardboard box? Alternatively you could source a CPU box with the plastic insert etc from online, maybe?

but keep in mind, if you listen to me, youre taking advice from the freshman kid that left his 4690k on carpet for 3 hours while building

about to sell my mobo and i dont know where to put my cpu in a safe place, and i dont have the plastic thing that originally came with it

Go to some repair shop or something and tell them you need that plastic thingy and they might give or sell you one.
