Sapphire Cards

Go to solution Solved by Virgule,

There is the Vapor X and the Tri X, i saw a Vapor X Tri X Card. So, what is exactly the difference between these versions?

I heard that the Vapor X has a better Cooling but is it just that or is there more?

The vapor-X has a vapor chamber, the tri-x doesn't

The Vapor-X has 2 bigger fans the tri-X has 3 smaller ones

The vapor-X comes with higher stock clocks than the tri-X

The Vapor-X color scheme is back and blue, the tri-X is black and orange

The Vapor-X costs more than the tri-X

The Vapor X design has 2 fans, while the Tri X has 3.

What AMD GPU are you specifically taking about? 290X?

Vapor-X 2 FAN - http://www.jmt.bg/images/products/21563_45275.jpg

Vapor-X 3 FAN - http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2014/06/sapphire-radeon-r9-290-vapor-x-oc-review/sap290vxoc-6b.jpg

Tri-X 3 FAN - http://images.anandtech.com/doci/7601/Sapphire_290_TriX_3qtr.JPG

Vapor-X Tri fan is the best, it has better cooling and is more silent than Tri-X .. also it has backplate and LEDs on the side with SAPPHIRE logo (blue light).

The 290x, so only differnce is that Tri X has 3 fans and and Vapor X has 2?

The differences between 290x tri-x and vapour-x are:

Vapour chamber on vapour-x - it is a bit cooler and quieter

The vapour-x uses a wholly custom PCB, the tri-x does not

The vapour x is more power hungry - 2 8 pin connectors vs 6+8 pin on tri-x

The vapour-x is a triple slot card compared to the dual slot tri-x.

Both have 3 fans, but the vapour-x shuts two off at idle, rendering it near-silent.

At the same-or-similar price get the vapour-x, but if they're significantly more expensive get the tri-x, the cheaper card is still extremely good. Another notable 290x is the PowerColour PCS+ - I have two of those in crossfire :)
