Ive seen this a couple places....and i like creating/ having odd cases. sould something like this be feaseable ? the dust would be a NIGHTMARE but what do ya think? picture added if ya havnt seen it yet. i wouldnt do it the same way ofcourse. certainly wouldnt use rubber bands and zipties...i have better equpiment at my disposal. .. but yeah thoughts?

also in b4 in the wrong section...seemed right thought. sorry mods if it is.

Well, as you said the dust would be pretty annoying to say the least.

And you would have to go very differently about airflow and fan placement in general.

I think you can compare this with an open test bench possibly

the dust...i have a way to counter it believe it or not. and yeah the air flow....other then ambient airflow. will have to be very thought out.

yeah its basically a test bench...but this would be a very odd build. and i like this kinda stuff.

its honestly between this and throwing a build into ...well. ill post it later maybe ;)

pointless? probably. stupid ehhh probably not. would be nice for showcase computers. not full cage but something like the sort.

I think the airflow will be great

if not i could just...

A cage is such a great playing ground for a design. I would move from the archetypical tower build and perhaps try something modular.

well YES. thank you. i wouldnt build a typical case like rectangle...it would be connected via 4 panes that could be disassembled and put into other positions. the picture is just.....a very rough draft for such an idea.

also it looks like thats an 1990's mobo

Be sure to make a build log if you do.

How so, if I may ask?

It wouldn't block any noise so it would be loud.

well....when you have 2 airconditioners. and a tv blaring....computer noise isnt a problem.

Because its so airy, I mean y'know all the holes and stuff

the things i could say.

it would also let dust in...but like a fine mesh sheild would stop alot of it...and itd be easy to clean too.

Airflow is pretty much all about leading the cold stuff next too all the components, so it picks up the hot air and brings it outside of the case.

With an open case all the warm air just goes up a bit (warm air floats up more than cold air..).

Than again, I am not an expert on this..

The fans would blow dust away too
