The Apple EarPods are really good for how much you spend on them. And if you run or jog a lot they're good for staying put. 

 

As an Audiology major, the shape of the EarPods is awesome. A few of my classes actually spent entire lectures talking about the shape of the EarPods compared to normal earbuds.

They don't fit in my ears properly, they hurt when I use them.

But a good set to look at are the Klipch S4i series

You must have an oddly shaped outer ear! Everyone in my clinic loves them but you can't make earbuds that fit everyone's ears. Anything by Klipsch or Sennheiser would work well but they're a bit pricier if you want them to go in your canal.
