? he said 4x7990 in Crossfire. If you went that route, you will have to use dual Xeons I think.

You cannot run 4 7990's in Crossfire because that card only has one Crossfire connector. That means you can only run 2 of them in 4-way Crossfire. The 7990 is a dual GPU card.

Technically, you can run 4 of them in any motherboard that supports 4 graphics cards but the system will only recognize 4-way Crossfire, not 8-way.

I was thinking of using 2 7990 per CPU, and Quadfiring them.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

The way you were wording them suggested running 4pcs. That's why dual GPU cards are worded "2 690's" or "2 7990's" if there is more than one of the cards being acknowledged.

Besides, you do not need a dual CPU motherboard to use 4pcs 690's or 4pcs 7990's. Any motherboard that supports 4 graphics cards will work.

I think that's a great idea, maybe build a cheap $500-$800 build, maybe even give it away on the forums  ,just to practice cable management, figure out how to build it (io wires,24 pin,4+4 pin,6+2 pin, graphics card, cpu, installing mobo in case, etc).

Nah, I think he should do a $5,000 practice build and give it away to me  :P

There are micro stuttering issues with 1 card, let alone 2. I would still go for with 3 titans or 4 titans...
