According to this article from The Tech Report, looks like we'll be getting Skylake processors 2 months earlier than originally reported. The article also lists a few technical specs for Skylake. Check it out here...

I know its not a ton of info, but how do you guys think Skylake will stack up against Devil's Canyon and Haswell-E? Even if Skylake is more powerful, will translate into more in-game performance? Does an August release make anyone more incline to wait for an upgrade?

My games are CPU bottlenecked very hardcore so... yeah. I'd easily pay $1k for a CPU that has stronger single-threaded performance. Can't exactly SLI CPUs for more CPU firepower in games either.

My guess? <10% performance increase when overclocked compared to DC. I also heard talk that Broadwell unlocked chips will be cheaper and possibly lower performance, and Intel will just let Skylake do the talking. I was never looking to upgrade to Broadwell, not with Skylake so close.

I am happy with my 4790K - that will last me for a while :)

I think i'd be ok if i already had a 4790k, i wouldn't be worried about skylake either... lol
