Hey guys I'm completely new to this, so I was hoping you guys could go over my plans for a gaming rig and see if they actually make sense, I will be expecting to upgrade the system over time, so for now one that works and has space for upgrades is fine. I've updated it to see if it makes more sense.

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A
Video: Asus STRIX -GTX960-DC20C-2GD5
Power: Cooler Master B600 Ver.2 80plus
SSD: SanDisk Ultra Plus SSD 256GB
Casing: CM Storm Enforcer Gaming Casing with USB 3.0
Cooling Fan: Cooling Master Seidon 120V
Processor: Intel Core i5 4670K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro series 8GB DDR3 DRAM 1866MHz C9
Fan: CM Jetflo 120 Red LED
HDD: WD Green 2TB SATA

Am I missing anything or do any of my components clash?

Many thanks!

Your I5 is old(like a geration old). Get a 4690k and you will be happy long time ;)

(unless that 3 is suppose to be a 4)

Your Power supply is overkill

Im not a fan of that case but thats just me

Current: R2600X@4.0GHz\\ Corsair Air 280x \\ RTX 2070 \\ 16GB DDR3 2666 \\ 1KW EVGA Supernova\\ Asus B450 TUF

Old Systems: A6 5200 APU -- A10 7800K + HD6670 -- FX 9370 + 2X R9 290 -- G3258 + R9 280 -- 4690K + RX480

Why such an old processor?

It's still agreat processor and not so much difference in haswell in terms of performance.

look like a good build.

Also don't understand such "old" stuff. If it's not released in last 1-2 years, it doesn't mean it's bad or it won't work.

I still have 2500 in one of rigs and it does just well.

But still, I would go with lesser ssd and get maybe 4690, so it will be enough for next 5 years maybe.

For me I wouldn't care if it's released 5 years ago if it still performs well like the CPU he mentioned.

@Jermsraphael That PSU is way too big for your usage. 600W should be more than plenty. Also the motherboard is kinda overkill, if you can tone down on these 2, you might squeeze out a 970 to go with it.

EDIT: Also, no HDD? That SSD won't be enough in the long run. Plus, do you need 16GB's of RAM?

From the other posts, I see that you edited the OP. Please don't do that. It makes it harder for us to know when you did mods, as a notification doesn't appear. And it makes other people's comments look stupid and out of place.

@Imakuni I wish i could make do with that build, but I'm not entirely sure if i have access to all those parts. Need to do a bit of hunting. I'm from Singapore, so shipping is pretty expensive too.

Aha. Ty for telling me that early. Now I just wasted 5 min of my life. Unsubscribe.

..

......

Jk Jk  :P . Hey, at least you don't pay 60% import fees. And your dollar hasn't skyrocketed recently.
