So, I can't truly be alone here. Am I the only one who gets all hot and bothered when people are bitching and moaning that a game isn't getting 60+ frames at the maximum settings on high-end cards? Specifically in newer releases. I saw someone earlier complaining because GTA V was OCCASIONALLY dipping below 60 frames on his computer (4670K + GTX 970). He even stated that the lowest it ever got was 56fps on Facebook last night, which is more than playable considering that he stated it OCCASIONALLY dips. It may be the fact that I consider myself a more or less a budget gamer (60Hz monitors, FX-8350, and Radeon HD 6950) who worked hard to build my computer, live on my own, and provide completely for myself, while the person in question still lives with and relies on his parents, and they paid for his computer. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it just bugs the living hell out of me when people complain about having good performance with small dips on relatively good hardware when there are people out there enjoying the game at lower quality on much lesser equipment.

Sorry for the bullshit post, I just felt like venting a little bit and seeing if there is any one else out there with a similar pet peeve.

I think its funny when people complain about getting ONLY like 90+ fps, when they have a 60hz monitor. To me, anything over about 40 fps is pretty playable, although its not great. I think some people are justified in complaining though if their hardware is well beyond the minimum specs for a game and they only get like 50, when the hardware is capable of going over 100. In that case I would complain too, but I see what you mean.

I still live with my parents but the build i currently own I build and bought myself (4690k, gtx 970) and i get enraged somtimes because it dips below 60 (to 30-40 ) but i don't really acept 56 as a drop becuase it isn't really noticable.

Yeah, pet peeves man. This is one of my largest. First of all, understand that the game was literally about 25 hours old when you were playing, there will be some issues. Secondly, you haven't struggled a day in your life (in this case, I know that. He was a fellow graduate from my high school, and a former good friend of mine), so I don't think you have valid points to complain about your current hardware and experience.

Just ignore him. Best treatment you can ever give to some one.

That's what I did, I scrolled past his post, realized Facebook is still full of idiots I don't know and sharepasta, and closed the app. This is just something I've continually seen (lazy, spoiled twenty-somethings complaining about the nice things they have) and it just bothers me that people can't be grateful and deal with a little bit less than they're used to every so often.

I'd get upset then too, everything gets choppy. But at 56 frames? You literally lost 4 frames in a second. You did not notice on your 36" TV you are playing on (in this guys case).

Well, I have a 750. The 1GB version. (But my monitor isn't 1080p so I can't complain. But that's not my point.) The problem is that many people, here in this forums, dont worry I still love you guys, that get like a super baller PC just to play that specific game

I hear ya there. Just found out my tax refund can buy me a monitor for another build, HDD and RAM for that build, and an SSD for mine. Rent, utilities, and college payments should be my priority, but I can't help thinking of getting those parts. I'll likely hold the money and pay bills, and let my paychecks add up for the parts. Will take a little longer, but I feel it will be more rewarding in the end (hooray for money management...!).

I do get peeved at people who complain about performance, not because they sound whiny, but because they sound unreasonable. It's amazing that the dude was getting 60fps on that game on that GPU in the first place, given how hard it is to drive even at 1080p.

That said, I don't think you should give that dude the time of day about his complaints. He's unsatisfied with his gaming results, well, he's going to be a very miserable gamer from here on out.

You may get four less frames, but you also get stuttering, which is very annoying. A 60hz display cannot display only 56 frames/second, it must always refresh 60 times a second (unless it's G-sync or Freesync). As you might imagine, this doesn't create a perfectly smooth experience.

I would prefer it if my framerate didn't fluctuate at all. Anything above 50 is fine, just so long as it stays at that rate and doesn't move lol

The irony is that if the game doesn't dips below those marks on high end hardware people would accuse it of being "dumbed down" and nerfed saying it's wasting potential to look better.

Some times is better to turn off FPS counters and have fun.

If you can actually notice this you should go be a fighter pilot and stop playing video games.

Exactly, you'd be much more well suited. The ability to notice 66 miliseconds out of 1000 miliseconds is fairly difficult (4 frames out of 60 frames per second is 66.666... miliseconds for those who don't know), and in my experience (recording gameplay at 60 fps and playing back frame by frame), I've never seen a frame be displayed more than twice while running the game recorded around 60 frames per second, so that stuttering becomes even more unnoticeable.
