4 strong cores are optimal probably.

Something like an i5. Otherwise you can go for 2 strong cores + hyper threading.

Like an i3 CPU.

Just a couple of etiquette points for a new user before a moderator locks this.

It's always prefered that you follow your posts so that you know when someone has commented.

There's any number of posts about this already, with a lot of information (mainly broken down by price points, and usage) This is why a mod will probably jump on soon, and point out politely.

Run a quick search before you post something new to make sure someone hasn't answered your question already, especially on a topic such as this.

Cheers, and welcome to the forum.

Preacher @zappian hath spoken thusly: thou shalt not i5, unless thou must, in which case you may.

:D

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

This^^ I have an i3 4360 with 2 physical cores with hyper threading and I do fine with gaming (along side my radeon 7750) and I plan to upgrade to a broadwell i5 when those come out.

I5, with 4 cores for a nice high end PC.

For lesser, mid range and lower, i3 with hyper threading

Two strong cores are fine (i3 4130 etc)

Four strong cores are optimal (excluding the FX 4150 etc, those cores are marginally weaker than your standard i5 4460 for example)
