I was wondering if you guys would do a full series ( maybe just one long video ) on video/3d rendering and production computers

ex: exploring the idea of dual core cpu computers and the performance difference between 2 mid level cpus vs 1 high end cpu

ex: how does a video card affect performance in viewport viewing and rendering ( if any)

i like the current content, but i am still wanting more information in the field of speeds for rendering

Errr...

I don't think that would even make the cut for Channel super fun...

Edit your post next time instead of making a new one.

That would be interesting although I don't think there's much need for that.

Dual cpu boards fell out of fashion a some time ago. Only a few boards support dual prosumer cpus and the ones that do are far more expensive than anyone watching youtube videos is going to need to know about. Their audience contains yes, high-end prosumer computer enthusiasts, but not that high end.

Would be interesting though to see a couple videos on something like a render farm, *COUGH COUGH * as they've already eluded to during the WAN show afterparty.

How about if you have a hard drive installed. And you want to know the performance comparison between installing on a 50gb ssd and putting all programs and data on the hard drive vs installing on a hard drive and using a 50gb ssd as a readyboost. And make it so linus actually has to get a cheap 50gb ssd off ebay

Is this thread alive again?

I think a beowulf cluster or other combined computing setup would be interesting to see.  Benchmark a bunch of cheap machines against 1 super build :)

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
