Stopping the update to 8.1?

Kaxlene

i recently had to reformat my hard drive be cause of the update to 8.1 making my computer somewhat unuseable in terms of network connection as well as work.

i work from home on this computer and my tablet, art programs and rendering software work best on 8.0, changing over to 8.1 causes a lot of them to just not work at all, as wll as my tablet to just be bad.... i would just update to drivers for all of them if 8.1 didnt make it so i couldnt connect to the internet at all. so just about everything i do for work is best on 8.1..

im curious if anyone knows how to stop this from happening?

and no, im not made of money so buying a new tablet and art programs is out of the question

clean install windows 8.1 from the iso

then you won't have any problems

heres the md5 of the file you want

then you can just reuse your cd key on it

On a certain point you will have to  upgrade to 8.1 since you won't be receiving any updates nor support.

Best way is to update and download the latest drivers.

This should work but you need to manually update your ethernet drive in this case.

Can you be a little more specific on what model computer and ethernet adapter?

Have you tried it with windows hardware manager?

Also you don't want to update the driver you want to delete it and reinstall.

What do you mean by model and adapter? you mean motherboard?

And ive tried in the device manager, but not having a internet connection after the update makes it a bit hard

just download the iso..and burn it to a usb stick with wintobootic

just search google for the md5 I gave you

upating to 8.1 is basically a service pack

and anyone with half a brain in computers knows that you don't install a service pack over an already existing os install

Maybe because the internet doesnt work after the update to 8.1?

More then half the programs i use for work cant be updated because of the net issue or just dont work with 8.1?

My tablet driver is 8.0?

I dont feel like formating my ssd for a 3rd time just so everything works again?

Sorry if i seem like a prick righ tnow, but im pretty livid

Download the 8.1 drivers before updating. I don't see why this is so hard, once you have the 8.1 drivers downloaded, let it update and install the new drivers.

All programs that work in 8.0 work in 8.1, including your tablet, just run it in compatibility mode.
